Turning corners

A few things.
I watched a lot of rugby last weekend. I sang Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau in a clear, steady voice in a crowded pub.

Afterwards the whole bar applauded.
My singing inspired the Welshmen across the ditch to an inspired performance in which they were clearly the better team and in which the scored the only try of the match. Unfortunately, a moment of ill discipline in the form of a dangerous tackle saw their captain sent off twenty minutes in. Having missed a few kicks at goal including one hitting the upright and another splitting the posts but falling just a metre short, the 14 men still on the field came up one point short. Final score: France 9 Wales 8.
Then on Sunday it was time for what many were calling the real world cup final between the Wallabies and All Blacks. I watched the game from The Beresford Hotel with the Convicts (it was the gayest non gay bar I have ever seen.)
One black clad Convict joined his countrymen and did Kapa O Pango.

And I did 10 pushups for every point the Wallabies scored.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to do as many pushups as I would have liked. Only sixty. The men in gold were thoroughly outplayed by the home team, which was clearly the better team, and which has been the best team of the tournament. Someone said they simply ran out of time to choke.
Afterwards my haka performing teammate needed something gold to wear to work, and as I had nothing else to put on, we swapped shirts.

On Monday I had a lie in and a swim and then drove into town for a workout.
YW: AMRAP 20 minutes - 10 32kg SDHP, 10 HR pushups, 10 pullups, 10 24kg KB swings, 10 situps - 9 rounds + 10,10, 4.
I gave Minou a lift home after having a long workout related chat with a work friend of hers about tires and lifting heavy things and hitting things (and people.) Dinner was had at her place, and I managed to avoid setting of the ever excitable Dora enough that she did not wet herself.
Today I finished selling a stake in SNL which will mean having a bit more cash on hand. EKA had some good news and jumped about 20% today to the point where I am actually above water on it. ERA on the other hand has dropped a lot recently on account of a capital raising in process. I will probably participate in it and average down the cost, but that will be a decision for November so I have plenty of time to find the cash.
I have been thinking about registering as a business to do some freelance demographic work from time to time and possibly some freelance personal training. I wouldn't make a living at either of those things, but if I set up "Luckycanuck Consulting" it could mean diversified income streams as Minou put it, and the chance to do work I like, and something to put on my CV for times when I am unemployed, like now.
I have also been looking at doing a qualification to become a personal trainer. A trainer at my gym spotted me working out and said he was impressed that I worked harder than most.
TW: Run to and from the gym with pushups on the minute (470 pushups). 5 bodyweight DL, 10 bench jumps - 10 rounds. 10-9...1 toes to bar and burpees. The toes to bar, as always, took some psyching up to make the initial jump.
He liked the idea of training people on a freelance basis, and mentioned a good place to gain qualifications. I can study online and get it done on my own schedule. I think these are good ideas and right at the moment I feel like I will have something worthwhile to do and that I may have turned a corner. (Note: I said "a" corner not "the" corner.)
