Wow. I'm currently reading Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail...so McGovern cuts a rather interesting figure to me. I didn't realize he was 88. That means he was 50 during his Pres run.
As a moderate Democrat (who votes Republican for the right candidate) I was disappointed in the election, but not surprised. I blame those people who never bothered to vote because of jaded cynicism.
