Catching up (so I can keep up)

Workouts - Mostly at home

This morning I tried something new. 20 double rope flicks, 20 dynamic tire pushups, run down the hill to the beach and wade in until hit by five waves and run back - 5 rounds. 45:02 of work.  I'm sure I can shave two seconds off.

It's a lot easier doing workouts at home rather than getting organised to go to the gym.

Investing

VMG has recovered almost to the level of the recent capital raising, and with the sale of part of the business bringing in a lot of cash and retiring more debt and new work coming in, they should be set for solid growth.  ERA seems to have a more positive sentiment behind it, and a protest shutting down a site where ARX is doing some exploration hasn't dented the share price much.  Now that the price is pretty much the same as the cash they hold in the bank, it might be a bargain.  Also DTE might be in the process of being manipulated down like BOW was, to pave the way for a takeover.  There are a number of places I can apply the cash I got from the sale of BOW.

Christmas

Midnight Mass at St Luke's Mosman where I used to be a regular when considering the priesthood.  This time nobody recognised me which was fine as I wasn't keen to chat.  Despite my current lack of enthusiasm with church and The Church I still attach some importance to Christmas and wasn't going to miss this, though I wasn't particularly inspired and was still able to get annoyed at the people whispering in the pew ahead of me.

I did get myself a Christmas gift of my favourite beer in the whole universe.

Man it was good!

Christmas day I went down to the beach before going to visit Minou and family for dinner.  I walked Dora (and eventually outlasted her up the last hill.)

Later we had some excellent cheese, a wide variety of salads, and "Eton Mess."

It's a lot better than what I would have organised on my own.

I don't think Minou and co had ever seen me drunk.  I wasn't alarmingly so.  I don't do that anymore, but I was certainly jolly.  I wasn't as loud, however, as some of the other family members present.

On Boxing Day I stopped in Dulwich Hill on the way home.  I didn't drink, but I did join in with the communal fun.

Since then I've been doing a lot of studying for my training qualifications, watching the Boxing Day Test (which was an outstanding back and forth affair that was finely balanced and could have gone either way until very late) visiting the beach, and having very little personal contact.  That's suiting me fine this time.  There is no feeling of isolation, in part because I have plenty on the horizon.

Scooch over. That hammock looks comfy.

I've been contemplating Eton Mess since you told me about it. I feel a cooking session coming on...

It was excellent, and actually quite simple in construction.
