Lunch and some light entertainment
Oct. 16th, 2009 09:50 pmThis morning a colleague from another office asked if I had plans for lunch. Apparently a retired MP needed someone to go to lunch with him and some people he has been working with.
And so I had lunch in the member's dining room with a retired MP, the head of the Rainforest Alliance over from New York, the founder of Gloria Jean's Coffee (who apparently used to buy coffee for the Shah of Iran once upon a time.) A bit of salad, roast beef and mash, and berry crumble with custard with people who were under the impression that I was a "Senior Advisor" to a political leader. Lucky for me I always keep a tie at the office in case of emergency. Sometimes this job has nice fringe benefits.
As long as we're on the subject of food, I found a rather amusing recreation of 300.
The only problem was they used the wrong kind of apples. At the very least they could have used one of the red varieties.
