Be very quiet

My time in the crowded Collaroy Castle is nearly up for now. Tomorrow dad and I are going to the cricket, and I will press on to Canberra afterwards. A friend of his got tickets in a corporate box (sponsored by the RTA for all you NSW taxpayers) and we are going to pretend like we're posh. There's a dress code and everything. Men must wear long pants and collared shirts, and women must not wear "revealing clothing."
It will be good to be at the cricket with dad. In fact, it will be one of the rare times I had even one of my parents to myself. The He Crow and She Crow who are currently staying with us haven't done anything bad or obtrusive or annoying, they've just been here. The only reason I know them is because my parents became friends with them at church in the 80s so they don't mean anything in my life, I have no space to myself when they are around, and I have less time to spend with my family because my family is entertaining them. In this environment, everything gets annoying.
Today I escaped to go to the gym right when they got back from the shops, had the house to myself for the afternoon, and went off for a swim just seconds after they arrived back from a drive around the eastern suburbs. There have been no aspie meltdowns, but there has been frustration.
Mum insisted on washing everything before I go, including the clothes I was wearing at the time. I won that round. Later on when she was on a ironing binge, she was about to iron the trousers I will be wearing to the cricket tomorrow. I don't like ironed trousers. If they are not covered in wrinkles they are fine by me, and she puts heavy creases in them and I don't like that. It looked for a moment like I was going to have to take them out of her hand but I insisted I didn't want them ironed. Dad supported me, and mum backed down. Two wins on the maternal fussiness front.
For a couple of days, I've had an odd roaring sound in my ears when things get quiet. It's not a matter of losing my hearing. I can still hear fine, but when everything is quiet, like it is now, there is a humming noise in the background. Maybe I've been at the beach too much. I'm not worried. I don't panic about health issues at the drop of a hat, but if it stays like this long enough it wil become a cause for concern.
