I often find myself picking up little bits of other people's work.  It's not much of an annoyance.  In fact often it's good experience.  A lot of the impressive stuff on my CV is work that is not technically my job.

It does, however, present the possibility of me taking responsibility for projects I know nothing about.  An advisor in another office had done most of a project but is away and unable to complete it before the deadline, so he handballed it to one of our advisors to complete.  He was weighed down with his own work, so he handballed it to me.

I was in the midst of other work, but this had to be done and it was certainly of greater urgency than what I was doing.  I made it into something presentable, but I don't actually know anything about it.  If someone has questions about it, however, they may come to me in spite of my practical ignorance on the subject.  This has happened twice this week.  The bulk of the work was done by others and if people have questions I have no idea how to answer them.

It's a bit frustrating sometimes having to pick up the ball for others.  I think I've got a pretty good record of not making others finish my work.

I led a run today and warmed up by doing 10 pushups, running up the hill, 10 more at the top, then back down.  I managed four before I had to go.  I'll have to find ways of getting a proper run in when leading the others in the group.  I can lead the run or I can run on my own terms but I can't do both.

TW: Tabata - 30 seconds on, 15 seconds off, for three minutes total.  Rowing, pushups, situps, dumbell squats.
