Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
May. 11th, 2010 10:30 pmGood things happened today.
1) A piece of corro that I was worrying about has been resolved without me having to do anything awkward.
2) Around mid morning I went to pick up some cases of beer from the underground car park with a trolley. As I waited for a friend's car to come around, I took advantage of the opportunity of having a flat concrete surface to scoot around on the trolley, pushing it along with one foot. Things like this are considerably more fun when you are wearing a suit. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!
3) It's budget night. (That's actually not good news. It was really quite dull and a non-event.) But when I got back from helping out behind the bar at a funciton we were having, a three course dinner was waiting for me in the office.
Mmmmmmmm. Fringe benefits.
4) I seem to have located a new Chez Canuck. Last night I went to look at a place in Ainslie and the people there seemed quite nice and the house itself was a place I would be happy to live. It's still close to work and has plenty of living and storage and parking space, and I've got plenty of time to move. I still have ot meet another person who will be moving in between now and mid June, but unless they turn out to be a serial killer I will be sorted.
5) The nurse I spoke to today says there is no reason I can't do anything I would normally do on account of my stiches. I had heard I'd have to keep them dry in the shower and other bits of wisdom from people without medical expertise. Tomorrow I'll got for a nice run I think, and may even go to the gym or do a crossfit workout.
6) I applied for another job that involves member services and strategies and was kind of vaguely described, but which, upon ringing the HR agency, was clearly a government relations job that is pretty well up my street. Again, wait and see.
I'm going home now.
