Does anyone remember me lashing out over the rank injustice surrounding me having to move out of my last house because one of my housemates thought there would be a conflict of interest?
Well again I seem to have aroused the wrath of the housing gods, and they smote me down with a notice to vacate.
And I am actually in a much better mood than you might expect.
The current Chez Canuck is owned by a family in the Australian diplomatic service and their posting is now up so they are returning. Apparently there is a clause in the lease that allows them to come home at short notice, and apparently that is not uncommon in Canberra.
This time it's not some bullshit scenario that gets rid of me and nobody else. Everyone has to leave. I managed to get over the initial shock and heartbreak because after she broke the bad news, Roxy informed me that everyone wanted to maintain the same household and we were starting to look for a new place that can house Roxy, Alleluia, Helga, and Luckycanuck.
Let the good mood commence! Last time it was hard not to take things personally. This time, I feel as though I am so pleasant and fun to live with that three other people all want to move along with me. Hooray!
So we have until early January before we have to move, but I am optimistic we can find a four bedroom house for the lot of us. If not, we may have to all find new houses, but if one of us manages to find a new place on their own the other three can enlarge the search for a three bedroom place which should be easier. We are even looking at a five bedroom place that is not too far from town and is still surprisingly inexpensive.
TW: This morning before work, more rowing. 6,476 metres in 30 minutes. Stressed? Do something physical!
