The Parents Have Arrived

Mum and Dad arrived this morning, an hour late. Damn Sydney Airport for having the most expensive parking in the world. $21 to rent a car sized space for just over an hour. That has got to be an awesome return.
Pies we had from the local pie shop which is renowned as being the best in Australia (by them of course, but they are pretty good.)
TW: No lockers available at the gym, and they closed earlier than I expected, so it was a shortened workout. 50 pullups, 100 bicep curls, 100 seated rows, 1 set of arm smashers.
Dad and I had a brief swim at the beach on a cool and overcast afternoon. He brought a towel, shirt, and sandals. I brought only the boardshorts I was wearing. Maybe all that time in Canada has made him more practical.
Mum arrived and immediately started cleaning. Prior to making all the beds, she rewashed all the sheets she was going to use and then ironed them. Hey, it's her call. I don't iron sheets. I don't see the point of ironing sheets that I am about to sleep in and that are not going to be on public display. Once upon a time there were battles over my reluctance to maintain her standards of neatness, with her using arguments like "I don't see why I should have to iron all the sheets myself." And me replying with "Neither do I." Now she seems happy to just do her cleaning rituals without expecting the rest of the house to join in. Oddly enough, I think it makes her happy.
The Crows arrive tomorrow morning. They are family friends from our church way back in the early 80s, and this is their first time leaving North America. This place is about to get crowded, and it's not a big house.
