This weekend the party conference is on, and I dropped by the opening reception after the gym.
TW: 10 bench press (was going to do more but there was nobody to spot me) 50 shoulder press (then a twinge in my upper back which forced me to change plans to aovid aggravating it), 150 chest contractions, 100 marine pushups.
There were people there whom I rarely get to see, but whom I was glad to see again. In the end I will be spending a good part of tomorrow helping out with the conference, and that is ok, even though I was originally hoping to be in America this weekend. Reconnecting with friends I've not seen in two years is a worthwhile thing to do this weekend.
There was also an octogenarian former Deputy Prime Minister who spoke quite a bit longer than he was expected to , but nobody had the heart to interrupt him.
Afterwards we went out to a chinese place and were plied with unreasonable quantities of food. My fortune was the subject line of this post. So I guess that means I'm going to Mount Everest. Or the North Pole. Someone else was informed that "You will be in good hands tonight." Perhaps he went straight to Fyshwick to hire a hooker.
I also educated my friends and colleagues on the correct way to choose fortune cookies. You choose one that is "pointing" at you and pass it to the person on your right. It's bad luck to pick out your own. That's the foolproof Luckycanuck method.
