Back to Real Work

The federal budget comes down tomorrow.  It's going to be a busy week at work, but it's good to have Parliament back in session again.  With several weeks off the office has lost a sense of urgency, but today there was a sense of purpose and I felt like I got something done.  Corro didn't even bother me.  Perhaps I need to keep on top of this better.

Still, I applied for another job today.  It's doing government relations for the NRMA (a motoring association in Australia.)  It's very much like another job I applied for and didn't get, but I will wait and see.  The polls that have come out recently suggest that much to everyone's surprise, I might be working for the Deputy Prime Minister by the end of the year.  There would be plenty of chances to move into different roles that would represent a considerable change from the frustrations I've had.

The market rebounded today, and I regained about a third of what I lost last week.

I took the bandages off my chin today and I'm putting antiseptic cream on the wound.  There is a nurse at Parliament and I will pop in there tomorrow to have the whole thing looked at.

There's so many buzzwords in these adverts. One flatly refuses to say who the role is for, but I get the impression that is par for the course in a lot of employment agencies.

They will never say who the role is for if they can help it. If they do the 1000000 other agencies who are hunting for new business will be swamping the client with cold calls..or the candidate will go direct.
